Our anniversary is next Wednesday (Aug. 4th) so I decided to build a canopy bed as a present for Sarah (my wife) as an anniversary gift. Got the idea in the morning (I think while I was in the shower), took a few hours off from work, came up with a plan, shopped for supplies and built it – all before Sarah got home from work. She loved it.
I wanted to use large spindles for it, but couldn’t find any near by so I used hand rails for the poles. The top is solid and has 5 long mirrors across it – romantic, right. And the sides have sheer drapes hanging down. The whole thing cost around $250 and wound up looking really nice. Everyone that has seen it really likes it. I think I scored some points with this one.
Went down to Madison by myself this past Saturday and saw Bourne Supremacy – great movie – liked it a lot.
And today Sarah and I saw Catwoman – Halle Berry was very sexy in it, but the movie could have been a little better.
Just picked up my latest gadget… The Apple Airport Express!!!
I love this thing! It was super easy to set up and I haven’t had any trouble with it yet. I am mainly going to be using as a wireless extender at my house, but I will also be using as a porable wireless base station also. I have tested the AirTunes feature, works pretty good. Haven’t tried the built in print server.
Well got her all fixed. Looks like my computer suffered a lightning strike. I had to replace a cd burner, dvd-rom, video card and ram. Really sucked. I don’t even use that machine much, but I had to have it fixed. Hopefully my renter’s insurance will cover this.
(When I refer to “PCs,” I mean WinTel machines.)
This past weekend, I tried firing up my PC and nothing. No video, no HD spin-up, nothing although I can tell that there is power getting to the devices. I think it may be a memory issue, but who knows.
Hopefully Ican get it fired up tomorrow, I need some files off of it.

Saw SpiderMan 2 last Thursday (7/1) night. I really liked it and I honestly feel that it was better then the first. The only thing that bothered me about this movie, was that it was “show everybody who SpiderMan is” movie. With the way the movie ended, I can look forward to a third one.
I am also looking forward to seeing I, Robot in a couple weeks and AvP a couple weeks after that.
I have once again changed my blog. This time I am trying out Movable Type. I will later post my thoughts. Tell me what you think.

Hopefully if everything goes ok today, we will own a minivan. I know, I know, it’s a minivan – but I really didn’t want a car and my wife really doesn’t want a full size van and other SUVs that have the size that we want are too expensive for me and my wife. So minivan it is. We are getting a really good deal and it has a few gadgets on it to make me happy. Fold down seats -> to put my laptop on – Extra power jacks -> plug my laptop, iPod, phone into – Onstar -> kinda kewl. But I am really thrilled about the extra room.
