I was over at my parents house (in Cambria) to pick up a van that my wife and I are looking at buying. We got to witness some of the worst damage to this area because of all of the rain. Hwy 146 going Cambria downtown was completely under water and was washing the road away. There were crews working all evening trying to stop the damage.

I managed to have a horrible week last week.
First and biggest thing to happen was my beater car slipped out of gear (or we forgot to put it in park) and rolled out of the end of my driveway, down my backyard, and launched itself into the lake. Luckily nobody was hurt, especially since the car came within a couple feet of where my wife was planting some flowers in the backyard and the neighbor was weed wacking a couple hours earlier. Since the car was our beater car, we only had Liability insurance on it because it wasn’t really worth putting full insurance on it. Only problem with that is we didn’t expect to have such an expensive “towing” problem. We had to hire a crew that would dive down to the car, attach air bags to it, inflate the bags to lift the car to the surface and then tow the car across the lake to a dock to pull it out. NOT CHEAP!!!
Here are some pictures of the whole ordeal:

So now we only have one vehicle and we both need to get around. I have been forced to work from home which is ok… except my second problem…
When I was working from home, at 12:30p on Friday, my DSL connection went down. So here I am stranded at home, can’t get any work done with out my internet connection, and no way of getting it fixed right away. Grrrrrrrrrr….
Now it’s Monday – everything is working – got the neighbor’s fence fixed – still no car, but as long as my internet connection stays up – not a huge deal.
Pray for my wife and I though – we don’t need any other surprises.
